The Nusa Dua gets a makeover: ITDC's three-year project, 2026–2028
The biggest transformation of Nusa Dua since 1973: roads, lighting, Peninsula Island access and a new wellness island.
ITDC, which manages The Nusa Dua resort area, kicked off a rejuvenation project on 28 January 2026, calling it the biggest transformation since development began in 1973.
Scope
- Resurfacing 3.7 km of roads and new lighting along 7.5 km of walkways.
- Reorganised access to Peninsula Island, including an event stage, access to Water Blow and a wedding area.
- Nusa Dharma island turned into a wellness island with yoga, meditation and fitness facilities.
- A waste-processing facility (TPS3R) of up to 5,000 m².
The project runs in phases over three years, 2026–2028.
Impact on the surrounding area
Nusa Dua already has Bali's highest hotel occupancy. The rejuvenation could strengthen the appeal of eastern South Kuta, including Benoa, Sawangan and nearby areas.
